Silent Sunday

After a full day, I indulged in two things: a late afternoon cup of hazelnut coffee, and sitting on the front porch. It was quiet and there was a little breeze blowing and I was just praying through a few things when all of a sudden, light just flooded the porch. It made me think of how cool it is that things can change in an instant when we least expect it, and how important it is to not giveRead more

little ripples

So, some mornings are more full than others. This morning was one of those for me. I had a few meetings (which come with lots of paperwork where it’s oh-so-legally-necessary to dot all the i’s and cross the t’s.)  To complicate my day  a bit further, our school system has changed computer programs (fun, fun!) which requires a lot more energy and time and focus to be able to complete the necessary forms. Never

Hope some of these photos refresh you. You see, we looked up.  Way up. And after a super busy week withRead more

Silent Sunday

Seeing the flowers of Spring encourages me to remember that there’s hope. Always.  Always, always, always.  Even when all we see are browns and grays. What we bring to Him, He can make new. Not only new… but beautiful and lifeRead more

Mindset

Nothing like coming back into your classroom after a long day of teaching and wondering if anything you did, said, or taught made a difference…and then, then… seeing this. It encouraged me to the core, especially when it came as a sweet message from a little guy whom I have heard say, “too hard”, “I can’t”, and “I won’t” so many times. (And the one whom I have had to ‘redirect’ quite sternly and emphatically so very many times.) Yep.Read more

One Step

You know what I love? The simple truth that one plus one equals two. And two plus one equals three. And after awhile, adding one can be a thousand, a million, a trillion. The power of one. “The journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” ( Lao-Tzu) You know what else? It ends with a single step. One step at a time. One plus one plus one…equals a thousand miles. Do you know why IRead more
