a few thoughts on reflections…

I love to see reflections in the water. Sometimes, the reflection is so true to form, and looks so much like what is being reflected. Other times, it looks so different. Ripples in the water, lighting,  and angles can make a big difference in how accurate the reflection looks.  The above photo isn’t clear, or an accurate representation at all, but I still loved the way it looked. And even if it doesn’t look quite like the plant that isRead more

…a little solitude…

So this one?  She’s at that place where there are lots of “life-changing” decisions.  There are lots of pressures to make the right choices.  There are lots of responsibilities and voices and people saying this and that, this and that and expressing their views.  And that’s all well and good for a time. I mean, it’s true.  But there are some things that we need to remember amidst all the voices and the noise of a world that oftenRead more

Under the Same Sky

Years ago, I wrote a song called, “Under the Same Sky”.  It was written while I sat on the porch steps and looked up at the stars and thought about my friend who I knew was probably out walking “under the same sky”, seeing the same stars. (She always went for a walk in her neighborhood at a certain time of night.)   But of course, we were seeing those stars from different vantage points.  You see, we had hadRead more

“All”  is a great word throughout Scripture.   “I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians  4:13) “ALL things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than ALL we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout ALL generations, for ever andRead more

On Going Gray ~ (or not!)

It’s been a week of winter grays. The January sky has been whitish gray, colorless and cold. The landscape has been faded, dull, and cold. That’s why it was such a breath of fresh air to see these beautiful winterberries the other day. They were bright red, vibrant, full of life! Red berries in a sea of gray. Well, to be honest, I’m a little sensitive these days about that bland color. Gray. I’ve never really liked the color, but,Read more

Daily Prompt Challenge ~ Transformation

Early Morning Metamorphosis… Take one sleepy and unfocused me, add a cup of coffee or two, a shower, some time in the Word of God, and “voila!” there’s a transformation, a major one! Thankful for that. (So are those around me in the early hours!) Some things just have a way of changing us from the inside out. Not just for the moment. Love that. “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed byRead more

Agitated.

Agitated. That’s the word. Agitated. The way you feel when you’re being tossled around from one thing to the next and you want to come up for air and have a breather, but you just get bumped again. Yep. Agitated. The word that describes how it feels to to get bumped and to either not be able to do anything about it or to choose to remain quiet and appear to not respond to the agitation because you know it’sRead more

Day One ~ Thankful for….Baseball

30 Days of Thankfulness… Yep. Baseball Here’s the analogy today. Baseball game in the south. Lots of people from both sides watching a tie ball game with umpires who are making some questionable calls for both sides. The crowd was getting really loud with the ‘disagreements’ with the calls, and cheering on people, etc. A batter gets up and there’s lots of cheering going on, and then the clear voice calls out in a calm and clear manner, “C’mon Chase.Read more
