To Green Pastures, Quiet Waters, O’ Restorer of my Soul, You lead me, You guide me, You say ‘Be still and know’ Though the storm’s raging, Light’s fading, Lord please renew my strength Like an eagle, Strong regal, O Lord help me not faint.” I’ve been reading Psalm 23 a lot lately. As I drove home tonight, this looked like a picture of Psalm 23 to me. My thought was that sometimes He can lead us to ‘green pastures’ whenRead more

Thankful Thursday
I ran a stop sign the other day, I did. It wasn’t a slow roll through. Nope, I ran it at about 60 mph. Not good. I nearly collided with a car whose driver sounded the horn loud and clear. Rightly so. Wow. There was grace that totally abounded. Totally. For me. Grace abounded for the driver in the car who sounded the horn, for the passengers. I didn’t get a ticket, but I so should have. It didn’tRead more
a few thoughts on reflections…
I love to see reflections in the water. Sometimes, the reflection is so true to form, and looks so much like what is being reflected. Other times, it looks so different. Ripples in the water, lighting, and angles can make a big difference in how accurate the reflection looks. The above photo isn’t clear, or an accurate representation at all, but I still loved the way it looked. And even if it doesn’t look quite like the plant that isRead more
Thankful Thursday
Even when I can’t lie down in a green pasture, sometimes just driving by makes me feel restored. Thankful. “He makes me lie down in green pastures, He restores my soul…” Psalm23:2 “The questions that truly matter in life are remarkably few, and they are all answered by these words–‘Come to Me.’ Our Lord’s words are not, ‘Do this, or don’t do that,’ but–‘Come to me.’ If I will simply come to Jesus, my real life will be brought intoRead more

Black and White Sunday ~ ‘quiet’
The sun was just beginning to set as this photo was taken. My son and I went to the river to get a breath of fresh air and take some photos. There was still snow on the ground from the week before (which doesn’t happen too often in this part of North Carolina!). The river was rushing with all of the melted snow coming down from the mountains, and it was only about 20 degrees out, so we were quiteRead more
Sunday Stills ~ ‘Cold as Ice’
“Quiet waters?” Not really. The rushing of the water and the wind through the trees weren’t what I’d call quiet. But I felt as though the refreshment that came from our time at the stream’s edge in the mountains was right out of the Psalms. Thankful for time well spent. “He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul.” Psalm 23:2b https://sundaystills.wordpress.com/2015/01/11/sunday-stills-the-next-challenge-cold-as-ice/Read more
