…not…
I love daisies. They are simple, but beautiful. They grow gracefully and don’t need much care. But this little daisy isn’t quite thriving at the moment. It’s in a large pot just off of our front porch and isn’t amidst lots of blooms. In fact, it is the only one blooming. It has lost a petal or two and the green leaves at its base are looking kind of brown. Poor thing looked like it had been through a prettyRead more
Thankful Thursday
So, it’s been a sweet week. Last Friday morning started with dropping Tanner and his friend off at his ‘Young Life’ ‘Brojangles’ breakfast at 7 a.m. It’s not always easy rushing out the door that early, but there are definite perks. Like this view… At school, for our last Friday before the 3 week break (YAHOO!!!), I had coffee and emergency chocolate on hand. It came in handy. Full day. Oh, and Hope must’ve known that it’d be super fullRead more
…a few thoughts on husbands…
Yes, I have a few thoughts on husbands. Correction. Husband. Singular. Meaning mine. I’ve joked (sort of) in other posts that my husband is a ‘man among men’ in many ways. (And sadly, this was said more humorously than amorously…) He is stubborn, thinks he’s invincible, and often doesn’t filter his thoughts through his brain before they come out of his mouth. So, my son’s birthday was yesterday. He had a few specific things that he wanted: a red-tailed catfish for his aquarium, and possibly a Lowe’s gift card for some tools, wood, etc for his projects. We decided to celebrate a day early because our youngest son was going out of town for a retreat and wanted to be there to celebrate his brother’s birthday. So after work on Thursday, I rushed out to Lowe’s first to get the gift card.Read more
Travel Theme ~ ‘Laughter’

thoughts on marriage…little lessons from a duck
There they were. At least they had their eyes on the same goal and were walking in the same direction. But the drake? He meandered back and forth, back and forth and left the beaten path for the grass. The mama mallard? She stayed on the walkway, followed the rules, made her way to the pond and managed to stay on the path even though the drake would go to and for and every which way. She was efficient inRead more
At Day’s End
So here’s the thing. You watch a movie. There are the ups and downs, twists and turns, moments of laughter, tears, moments of wondering how things are going to turn out and thinking there’s no way a situation can end well. And then? The end of the movie. The beautiful ending where all of the pieces come together and you see where things have been leading all along. It’s a happy ending, a hopeful ending, one that leaves you withRead more
