Daily Prompt ~ “Dreams”

Looking Forward
They have lived a life with so many dreams realized.

But some of their dreams will never come to life. So it is with life.
Her prayer as she faced leaving this world was that she would ‘finish well’. Even as she faced her cancer head on, she did just that, and impacted and inspired so many people along the way.

He no longer has her by his side.

But he continues to look forward as he holds on to the Hope in Christ which they both shared.
They both spent a lifetime with that Hope in Center Stage.
It is so much more powerful than a dream, and it gives those she left behind the strength to look forward and not behind with great expectation!

Hope trumps dreams. Expectation overrides earnest longings. Bottom Line, this is not the end of the story, and God is worthy of our Hope and Trust. In this crazy world, He is a Stronghold and those who wait for and put their hope in Him will not be shaken. Love that. Absolutely love that.

Psalm 62:5-8

My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him. 6 He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold ; I shall not be shaken. 7 On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God. 8Trust in Him at all times, O people ; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.

Lovely. But having dreams is important… ‘you got to have a dream, if you don’t have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true…’ South Pacific by Rogers and Hammerstein.

So agree with you! Am a big dreamer myself and encourage that in others. Didn’t mean to say not to dream. It’s just that sometimes (when life is full of the tough stuff) those dreams have to go on the back burner…and I need to focus on something bigger than myself…Hope in Christ that transcends the temporary.
