what these eyes see

DSCN7398

Do I see the forest

Or do I see the trees

Let my sights be set on  You for you are all I need

Do I see the detail

Or does my vision scan it all

Let my sights be set on You, You are my all in all.

Do I see minutiae

Or the Grande Design

Let my heart be set on you and vision be aligned

With your call to be faithful

in the little things, the small

With the Hope that’s all encompassing, Vast wonder with no walls

Do I see the forest

Or Do I see the trees

Oh may my eyes be set on you, your heart is what I seek

You saw tears of widows, the writing in the sand

Our earth is but your footstool, yet you see me as I am

the insignificance of little

the vastness of the grande

It all resides so wondrously, so carefully in Your Hands

Oh, Lord I see the wonder

the detail and the vast

Oh let all that I see and hold be free from clinging grasps

For eyes were meant to see

and hands were meant to hold

and lives were meant to live and love and work and above all know

That we are passing through

through this world great and small

And Lord you see,  you know,  you hold

the wonder of it all

I lift my eyes in wonder

Oh Lord of Great and Small

I see the forest and the trees and thank you for it all

I thank you for it all.

“If you believe in a God who controls the big things, you have to believe in a God who controls the little things. It is we, of course, to whom things look “little” or “big.”
