Tonight, as we turned a corner on the way home, Tanner and I saw this deer…and this deer saw us. Was a sweet moment as we kind of watched for a minute in the quiet. Then, I was thankful I had my camera. Here are a few photos taken…and some random thoughts that seeing this deer on the horizon brought to mind.

“As a deer pants for the water, so my so longs after you…” Psalm 42:1
“He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights.” Ps 18:33

Years ago, I read Hannah Hurnard’s Hinds Feet on High Places. I love that book. Anyway, as I saw the deer tonight, I was reminded of that. Here’s one of my favorite quotes from the book:
“O Shepherd. You said you would make my feet like hinds’ feet and set me upon High Places”.
“Well”, he answered “the only way to develop hinds’ feet is to go by the paths which the hinds use.”
Yep. Am thinking so.
Blessings~
