“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him.”
Lamentations 3:22-24
And just a few thoughts. I was driving on my way home the other evening, just taking in the beautiful sunset.It was so beautiful as they so often are. It amazed me how it was like a grand painting or masterpiece is unveiled on a daily basis around here. The sunrises and sunsets are beautiful and they are such a reminder of the fact that there’s “something” (SomeOne) out there so much bigger than ourselves. But then I remembered the above verse. How “His compassions are new every morning”. EVERY morning. The sunrises are never the same. They are new every morning. They just are and I love that.
A beautiful sunrise can take our breath away if we stop long enough to take it in. In the same way, so can the compassions of the Lord. They can just take our breath away if we would but stop and realize the beauty of even the simplest things that He has done for us. So thankful for the visuals that help me understand the words of scripture in a much more real way. Just as the sunrises are new every morning, so are the compassions that He has for those who wait for Him. So, “I say to myself…..I will wait for Him…”
