For grace that’s like the wind, a breeze
that washes over, carries me
That fills my lungs and helps me breathe
Oh how I thank you Lord
For like a leaf that catches wind
I take the breeze you daily send
Or storm or gust or winds gone still
What’s filtered through this wind, Your will
Or like a little ship am I
moved, yet anchored, guided by
The winds of grace—not just the tide
I will adjust my sails
And like a ship that sets its sail
through westward wind or stormy gale
through zephyr, cyclone, simple draft
I trust you to bring me Home at last
Yes safe at last, once through the storm
You bid to trust you, carry on
Trust as a ship blown by the wind
Comes safe to shore, once… again.
The journey lingers, onward still
Oh, Lord, I’m thankful that your will
Is more than what I’d ask or think
this in between-this reckoning
Is but a moment in eternal time
Yours is the grace that we will find
at journeys start and journey’s end
Grace brings me Home
again and again.
Yes, how I know, oh how I’ve seen
the way you move, the reckoning
Of the now and not yet-this space between
You’re in it all, Oh Lord
Even a feather in the sky
Drifting quietly on by
Yes, all is seen by your eyes
There’s comfort in that truth
So come oh storm or breeze that blows
We may not know what it bestows,
But we know at the Source we’ll find
A greater view of Grace divine
For grace that’s like the wind, a breeze
that washes over, carries me
That fills my lungs and helps me breathe
Oh how I thank you Lord
Your Grace, like wind,
Restores.
Blessings ~
